How to remove and replace a sagging Audi A6 Sedan headliner
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.6 месяцев назад
After removing my headliner, I took it to an auto trimmer to cover it for me. I do not recommend covering it yourself as the adhesives they sell in stores is not the same as the adhesive the auto trimmers use and they have experience doing this. This video will show you how to remove all the trim pieces in order to drop the headliner to get it out the car. If you do not have folding rear seats ...

Good evening, if you are getting a smell from the aircon , get yourself a tin of aircon cleaner aircon bomb) that will kill all the bacteria in the system , Amazon or eBay will have them , lovely old Audi I had a A4B6 Avant one of the first of the s line model 2004 in misona red
@Phil-1969 I forgot about stuff. Definitely doing to get some. Thanks Phil 🙏
Car is looking great!!! I personally wouldnt tint the windows as it changes the original look of the car. I love the originality of this car and the grey Audi!
Hi my friend i have been your follower since 4-5 years. You think I can use this guide to remove the roof of my Rover 75 it has the same problem as your Audi :/
@ClaudioMacrod hey Claudio, Yes. Removing a headliner is basically all the same. Grab handles, dome lights front and rear, sun visors, B pillars and rear C pillar trim. Having done this, I would recommend to get the rear seat bench out and drip the front seats as far as they will go with headrests off and also move the seats as far back as they will go. The passenger side rear door will be where you want to get it out. But you WILL have to bend the roof lining card quite a bit to get it out and back in. I thought mine was ruined when I reinstalled it but the creases have l9ng since smoothed out and one can't even tell it was changed.
Really nice, well done
Great video i have a cx5 too and just got a viofo
Coming along really nicely !! Nice job 👍
I will give a try for Audi A3 , the heavy stick glue didn’t last a day
I love your videos I’ve got a 2014 xf 2.2 200 bhp I love it it’s on the luxury model
Good evening I live half hour drive from the Jaguar and Land Rover museum in Gaydon Warwickshire 🇬🇧, if you ever get the chance to go , definitely do it , thanks again for your videos they have helped me out , I have a black 2011 2.2 XF , it’s on my RUclips channel, with my old 3.2 Audi TT also a 1990 Vauxhall cavalier, all the best Phil
@Phil-1969 Nice cars you got Phil. Audi TT 3.2 is pretty rare now. Hang on to that one.
I finally bought one earlier this week. I bought the 2011 XF 5.0l na. I absolutely love it! I see why you keep buying this brand.
@TheWiz2024 The 5L naturally aspirated is the best engine of the all of them. Good choice. You are going to grow more and more fond of that car by the day. We'll done!
@@carfanfan Thank you. I was very hesitant at first but your videos convinced me.
@TheWiz2024 Don't worry mate. They're easy to fix and not much goes wrong. Just check when last the water pump was replaced. It's the only thing that fails on those engines. Luckily you don't have the supercharger because those fail too. So water pump is all you need to worry about.
Lol...😂
@@p1epoppa 🤣😂🤣
Great video. Well explained and easy to follow. Thanks
I may have missed it, by why not connect to the power lead of the footwell ambient light instead of all the way to the roof panel? Is it not accessible or too thin wire?
@@iLoveTheseRemoras because the footwell lights only turn on when you open the door. In addition, connecting to a light source such as the overhead console allows one to dim the ambient lights using the dimmer on the dash.
Hello mate thanks for you advice before on my jag . I have a Xfr . 2013 . New problem every time I shut the boot it pops back open again a few minutes later . Tried leaving the car unlocked but it still do the same thing. Do you know what’s happening regards Ben
@benrichards9003 Hey, Ben, the boot lock is electronic and is probably failing. However, it could also be the wiring loom that leads from the body of the car into the trunk. I did a video on how to replace that loom. I'd recommend removing the loom and pulling the rubber protective grommet away to see if any wires have broken. This could cause a short and pop the boot open. The locks very rarely fail, so my guess is to check there first.
that is a stable big car
Interesting that you say it look like an Aston Martin. I've removed the XF letters and the Jaguar logo from the back of my car and so many people think it's an Aston Martin!
Well done
Hello, thanks for the video. I can't seem to remove the clips or pins that are on the carpet, the ones that use a screwdriver are easy. How do you remove the other pins?
simple, knowledgeable, no ballast, best video I found for the XE before deciding on purchase, cheers

Followed you for years Hilton....still enjoy the videos, even though now Audi related. This video is great for me as I have to replace my 3rd center brake light. I'll let you know how I get on.👍
Good luck Graham. It's a time consuming job, but not that difficult. Hopefully my video helps you ;)
@@carfanfan Not much info out there to be honest. Jag dealer near me says they have never issued one....must be reliable. Dealer wanted £160 !!!!!! So I'm fitting a second hand one from a salvage yard....£30. 🤔
@grahamevans9606 holy cow. That's expensive. Glad you got a salvage one. They don't usually fail. What happened to yours?
@@carfanfan Stopped working. As luck would have it, I have just changed my girlfriends 3rd Brake light on her Audi TT MK2. 1/2 HR job and picked up from AliExpress cheaply.
@@carfanfan All done Hilton. about 1 hr....biggest issue, mine does not have folding seats so had to remove boot carpet and lying on my back manually release the spring tabs that ate there but without the cable mechanisom that goes to the sides of the rear side panels. Thanks again for the help.
5:04 - you can also disengage manual mode and return to D mode by holding the upshift paddle for about 2 seconds.
Hello CarFan Your video is perfectly clear, thank you for the explanations. The wiring harness in my car has the reference DX23-13A444-BA, do you think that the reference C2Z19978 replaces it? I'd like to take advantage of your expertise to ask you for 2 simple pieces of advice. How to check if the camera is working before changing the harness and how to dismantle it too. I have a faulty plate bulb, how can I change it too? Thank you in advance for all your answers.
@Warguy-uw6pi unfortunately I don't know what that reference number means. I just know the part number which I used. The only way to know the camera isn't working is when the screen goes blank instead if giving you an image. The you know it's the cable. The camera rarely breaks. The license plate light bulb can be changed from outside the car. Just use a small flat head screw driver, insert it in the little slot on the lense and unclip it to reveal the bulb.
@@carfanfan Thanks tou very much !
R14000-22000 for oil change, spark plugs, filters, v belts and service stamp😮 . How is the fuel consumption in real driving (L/100km)?

Facinating! Never knew thats how it works! You really good at fitting personal extras to a car to make it fancy!! Well done!!
Thanks so much for your kind words. 💙
That car sure is looking very good with those new lenses! Wonder what the previous owner will say if he sees how nice its coming along! Great video and work!!
Thanks. When it's done, I will send him a link so he can see everything that's done to the car and how I gave it a new lease on life ❤️
Thanks 😅
You have saved the car dealer from a large black eye , great video . Thanks
Gladbmy video helped Phil 😄
Thanks
Thanks for this, I'm going to give it a go after regular double-sided tape didn't hold for more than a day.
It works well. My searbacks are still in their place and haven't even moved. The car has been to the dealer and they moved the drivers seat several times with different people driving it and the seatbacks still stayed in their place. 😊
I love the wood look on your car. Goes with the rest of the wood and has great appeal making the car seem more executive in looks like the bigger Mercs etc! Great job again Hilton!! Very proud of you!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I am really happy with the results and at last have the old broken ashtray out the car. It was rattling a bit so now it's a quieter ride 😄
Nice Job Hilton! Looks really good :) But to be honest I really hope to see you in a Jag again… I really loved your Jag contents 😁
I would love tonhave another Jag. Maybe next car would be an XJ or an older X type or S Type. 😄

Hi Hilton .I hope you are doing well . I am looking to buy a jaguar XF ,2012 ,50km excellent condition..need your thoughts? Thanks Kevin
That's very low mileage and a good buy if it has full service history with agents. If the service history is questionable I would think twice. What engine has it got?
Full service from the agent .. 2.2 d .. one owner
Really enjoy your content.. very informative.. we need it in the South African market.. not many people do it ..
@@kevinnaidoo2875 Good buy. Go for ut. The 2.2 is very reliable and frugal on diesel. You will also love the power and low down torque. 👌👍
@kevinnaidoo2875 thanks my friend. ❤️
Fantastic job Hilton
Evening Hilton just watched you wrapping your boot lucky for me mine is done it looks fantastic good video
Thanks, mate. Yeah, it just looks better wrapped in gloss black. After I did the window surrounds, it looked aggressively awesome.
@@carfanfan yes I agree it does look fantastic
@@carfanfan just been watching you wrap the windows very nice 👌🏻
Great video
I rewatched your video and now i'm going to glue those clips back on with gorilla glue
The clips on one of the seats came off and I used shoe glue to glue them on. Still holding strong. Just sand paper the back of the clips where you apply the glue to create a good bond and they won't come off. 😉
I expect this guy to start singing Careless Whisper in a second - he has the best George Michael, soothing voice I've ever heard! Thanks for this video.

Very helpful, after all these years. Thanks!
What are your ideas for a new set of rims. Are you going to keep the car authentic with the 15 inch or are you going to modernize it a little bit with perhaps some 17 inch? Late 90s early 2000s had some amazing Audi rim designs. Of course you can go for some B5 S4 rims, or I think it would look really good with the 17 inch sport package rims that came on the B6 Audi A4, 2002 through 2005.👌
I made the mistake with my 1999 Audi B5 by dumping the 15" wheels for 17" BBS wheels. Looked great, but suffered from potholes and hard ride. I'm going to keep the wheels stock. It has a nice soft ride and those high profile tires will help shield the wheels from getting buckled on potholes 😄
Hey Hilton, I’ve been following you since you had your XF, the first generation, I had one at the time. So my first car was a 1996 Audi A4 2.8. I got it in 1999 when I turned 16, I worked my butt off for it and I think I got it for 9k. I always loved the key had the little light on it, and then also it had pneumatic locking kind of like the W-140 S class. I never got sick of that sound when you locked the car and you can hear the vacuum sucking down the locks lol
Hey Nicholas, the 2.8 was s nice machine. Especially in A4 form. Smaller car, lighter and very nimble. It was a toss up between getting an A6 of that time, an A4 again or a 2001 A6 4.2 V8. I chose the more challenging one unfortunately. Not knowing Audi don't support them anymore. When I had my A4 until 2018 parts were readily available but this one I bought is now very scarce. You just don't see them on the roads anymore. Thanks for following my channel all these years. 🤗
@@carfanfan well, it’s definitely in excellent condition and very unique. They just didn’t sell that many Audi in that era as far as parts go especially the A6. That Audi generation was only around for a few years, they were just coming out of the unintended acceleration fiasco. The 2.8 L was a really good engine, it was quite underpowered, but I had the five-speed manual. It was more reliable than the 2.8 5v 200 hp V6 that came out in 1997. The only issue I had was the catalytic converter failed and then control arms, but this suspension on the A4 was different. I look forward to seeing what you do with it,
very nice car in good condition Cant wait to see the transformation you will do in getting it A1. Keep them coming
Evening Hilton nice very clean car, bet you miss your jags I wish you would get another one fab video
Thanks Chris. I would love to have another Jag but it wouldn't make for good content as I already did so many videos on those cars. They are solid cars and I still love them.
Morning Hilton well I am sure I will be asking you questions about the XFs in the future as I am still learning I am currently trying to master the sdd software getting there slowly enjoying your videos old and new ones take care feller
